Born in New Jersey, I moved to New York where I lived for 17 years and obtained a degree in French language and literature from Columbia University. After a career in media and with French fashion houses, I moved to Paris in 1989.
Here I studied art at the Ateliers du Carrousel de Louvre (drawing, oil painting, watercolor); Atelier St Luc (old masters’ techniques), and copied at the Louvre. I also learned morphology at the Ecole National Supérieure des Beaux-Arts and attended their summer courses. My specialty is portraiture and scenes of Paris and my work also includes still life, interiors and landscapes. I’ve exhibited in France, Tunisia and Ireland and now work principally on commission.
In 2004 I founded SparkyCardsParis, a small business for the design, marketing and distribution of note cards and posters illustrating scenes of Paris.
My work in the media includes creating and hosting an internet radio program on the art scene in Paris, The Art Beat for Paris Live Radio. While a student at Columbia I co-produced a public-access television program in conjunction with the French Embassy featuring French cultural events in New York. I have lectured on the Impressionists, Art Techniques through the Ages, Renaissance painters, and other topics on travel barges, at the American Cathedral of Paris, at the Alizes bookstore in Paris, and for Paris Walks.
Passionate about art history and the history of France, I give tours of Paris and its museums. I’m thrilled to be currently studying the history of Architecture with Claude Mignot at the Sorbonne University in Paris.
I am very excited about my new project, Guide to the Angels of Paris which will be in book and video form very soon.
